Because I Love you

Because I love you,

I always put you first.

I would race to the ends of the earth,

if it made you happy.

I make your bad days better,

even on my worst.

I do this because I love you,

despite you not loving me.

The purpose of the poem is to demonstrate that true love is not infatuation. If you're infatuated with somebody who feels no infatuation towards you, you just stop caring about them. But when you really love someone, even if they do not love you back, you will do whatever it takes to make them happy.
