Because I love you

Because I love you I have changed myself

Because I love you I can no longer be sensitive

Because I love you I can't say what bothers me

Because I love you I have forgotten who I was before

Because I love you I have become an entirely different person

Because I love you I feel like I am drowning in sorrow

Because I love you I have made myself sick trying to please you

Because I love you I have isolated myself from others

Because I love you I have left my depression untreated

Because I love you I put my pride aside to spare yours

And its Because I love you that I say:

I need to love myself before I can love you anymore.

You tell me that you love me

But where is this love?

What is this love you speak of?
