"Because I Love You"

In the beginning things were grand

Everything went as we planned

You loved me right and were true

I could not help but love you

But slowly and surely, there came a day

When all that was good faded away

You left and I was defeated

I did not know my love was so conceited

I feel the pain every day

The words "I love you" make my heart sway

Our love was renegade

Was it all just a charade?

"Because I love you" is not an excuse

No one should use love as abuse

Something so pure and right

Should not be tainted by your dark light

I loved you

And you changed my whole view
