Because I love you

I tried to stop the tears escaping my eyes always wondering why,

because I love you is what he said, but I just couldn't get it through my head.

I dont know love but this doesn't feel right,

you shouldn't hit, scream, and fight.

I laid in my bed at night, afraid of the morning light

It means it's all going to happen again tonight.

I left one day, and never looked back, but when my daughter one day cries,

I will be the one wiping her tears, not the reason why.

And when she asks why, I'll tell her what you told me,

Because I love you.
