Because I Love You

I don’t think

“Because I love you”

Is something someone says

To request permission

To turn back denial

To gain more power

“Because I love you”

Is said in explanation

As to why one makes themselves vulnerable

As to why you would give up so much time

so much thought

so much love

For a single smile

Most of my poems are about rain and trees and not wanting to write essays or something
