Because I Love You
I overshadow and control your life
That's just what lovers do
Even if these actions cause you strife
It's all because I love you
But that's not love
It's far too cruel
It's a cage around a dove
Or too much weight upon a mule
Love is trust
Love is belief
Love is something that feels complete
Like a ballad's last note
Or a bridge to a moat
Love bridges gaps and fills hearts
Because I love you is no excuse
It's the start of mistrust and abuse
If you love another
Then what's on their phone won't matter
I respect you too
Because I love you
