Because I love you

He bought her a rose and surprised her one day.

She asked him why the sudden gesture?

“Because I love you.”

She made him a lovely breakfast in bed.

He looked at her in both excitement and confusion.

“Because I love you.”

The couple went out for a cup of coffee.

Another couple was heard in the corner of the café

“You have to cancel your plans because you love me.”

The first couple rolled their eyes and laughed,

Knowing what love is all about.

And held each other’s hands as they shared a thought.

It’s the simple things in life that you do for someone.

Not because you are asked to, but

“Because I love you.”

If someone tells you to do something for them,

And that you are obligated to

“Because I love you,”

This isn’t true love that so many are seeking,

But a false love built on the manipulation of

“Because I love you.”
