Because I Love You
Because I love you, I ignore the pain.
Tears dripping down my face mimic the rain.
Because I love you, I continue to hurt.
I sit on the bathroom floor, throwing up my dessert.
Because I love you, I say I’m okay.
I’m scared that you’ll get tired of me and go away.
Because I love you, I stick around.
By your love, I am drowned.
Because you love me, you try to let me go.
I cry and repeat, “No.”
Because you love me, you tell me to move on.
I tell you that without you, I am gone.
Because you love me, you hug me when I cry.
You say you know it’s hard to say “goodbye”.
Because you love me, you take me back.
Now, we are back on the same track.
Because we love one another, we begin to communicate.
We talk things out and get them straight.
Because we love one another, I’m no longer in pain.
Your presence keeps me sane.
Because we love one another, neither of us are hurt.
We will never make the other feel like dirt.
Because we love one another, I’m becoming okay.
I’m feeling better with each day.
Because we love one another, you’re always around.
I’m no longer crying alone on the ground.
Because we love one another, you won’t let me go.
You are always there, that I know.
