It's too scary to say it,

Especially when

The words are so overused,

Nowadays.

They fall from anyone's lips,

Just like "I'm sorry."

I don't know what to say instead

To get my meaning across.

To let you know.

To make you understand.

To have you feel.

"You should get more sleep," you say to them, when they wobble on their feet,

ready to fall head over heel, "Wanna take a nap?"

"Let's go get your favorite food," when their stomach rumbles.

"Would you like a back rub?" Because you heard the groan when they stretched.

"This reminded me of you." And it might even be a gag gift,

But wow,

If their face didn't light up anyways,

Because you still thought of them...

"You look really good today," and you know, if they looked in the mirror,

They might actually think they looked good right then,

Despite how the pillow has marked up their face.

It's too scary to say it,

Especially when

The words aren't used often enough.

They fall from no one's lips.

Just like "I'm sorry."

But when you ask why I do all this stuff for you,

What else am I supposed to say?
