Because I Love You
Before I loved you, I felt alone
Before I loved you, I knew it was me against the world
Before I loved you, I knew I could never be enough
Beginning to love you, I thought I imagined the sliver of light piercing through the fog
Beginning to love you, I thought you could never want me
Beginning to love you, I feared you would see how broken I was
You did.
As I loved you, you began to piece me back together
As I loved you, you told me I was never alone
As I loved you, you taught me that I was enough
Because I love you, I believe in myself
Because I love you, my depression and doubt have vanished
Because I love you, my entire life has changed for the better
Because you loved me, I am forever changed
And because I love you, I became who I was meant to be.
