Because I Love You

I won’t push you past

your limits very fast.

You don’t have to worry;

I’m not in a hurry.

I think we found love at last.

I will show you respect;

Though, I’m not perfect.

You can trust me,

I won’t judge you for what you used to be.

It’s a love we will protect.

I can be your knight

In shining armor so bright.

Your previous “lovers” may have been abusive,

But this is conclusive.

I promise to treat you right.

Because I love you.
