Because I Love You
You were there for me in those hot summer days
Those days where I thought I would just fade away
Waiting for the day where my best friend would say
"I'm here,"
But she was never there
She didn't care, she didn't listen
But you; you listened
I couldn't believe my luck, that you this boy this friend
Someone whose friendship I should've brought to an end
You, my best friend's ex
Were more than just a friend
You loved and cared for me when my best friend wouldn't
"Why?" I would ask
"Because I Love you," you answered
And just like that my world changed
All because of those summer days
Where
You loved and supported me
You were where I needed you to be because, you see
My best friend never really belonged to me, you see
She was never really meant for me
We weren't meant to be
Much unlike you and me
The one who values me
Sergio you and I are meant to be
