Because I love you.
I love you.
Life is harsh and messy.
Nothing feels right, until it does.
What was once familiar, becomes jarring and unknown.
People can change, but mostly they don’t.
I wish I could erase every scar, soothe every hurt.
Because she didn’t love you.
People will take.
Some people will give.
A few people will give more than they take.
But she didn’t love you.
You were lost and confused.
You gave, but did not receive.
You ran empty with love.
Because you did love her.
It ended abruptly.
The sharpness cut you and marked you.
But you were not alone.
Because we love you.
The flame within is diminished, but not gone.
It is hard to trust, and to give,
And yet…you do.
Because you love.
You will never be alone.
You have known happiness, and will again.
The journey has only just begun.
Hope can be delicate, but it is not elusive.
The future is full and warm.
Because I love you.
