...Because I Love You
…. Because I Love You
-Lauren Valenzuela
Why do I defend you from others that tell me you hurt me?
… because I love you
For moments of doubt, I hoped you would go back to those momentary parts where you showed affection.
That was because I loved you
How do I go about my day still caring and hating, knowing you never meant anything you’ve ever said and you don’t care?
… because I love you
Looking back at life knowing that you are a milestone and justify not to regret it out of bitterness but out of the question, “ Was it worth it?”
Yes, because I love you.
Where in a persons right mind do they turn off that part of their brain to focus on something productive than missing you? Walking around with a mask and a resting face of no emotion?
Me. Me because I could not bare to give myself up again like I did.
Because I love you.
I wasn’t even given the chance so you gave up.
What happened to you back than that made it easy to shut everything out and show no remorse?
Though you looked me in the eyes and said “I just lost feelings.” I realized it wasn’t just for me, it was for your motivation in life.
So for that I forgive you, not for all the things we’ve been through but for you to find your way and feel something later on for what you’ve lost and learn from it…
Because I love you.
