Because I Love You

I remember you looking over,

telling me "I love you so if you love me

You should listen to me."

At first, I didn't understand

why you would yell at my tears,

you making fun of my fears.

I didn't know that

"because I love you,"

should be more about wiping my tears.

I didn't know that

"because I love you,"

should be more about putting my seatbelt on.

I didn't know that

"because I love you,"

should be more about why my stomach should be full.

I didn't know that

"because I love you,"

should be more about wholesome laughter and jokes.

I didn't know that

"because I love you,"

should be more about me than you.
