Because I love you...

Because I love you, I cry myself to sleep at night.

Because I love you, my smile has faded, never shining so bright.

Because I love you, hearing your name makes my heart break.

Because I love you, I prayed that from death you'd wake.

Because I love you, I forced myself to come to your funeral.

Because I love you, I distanced myself until the pain became consumable.

Because I love you, I wanted justice on the one who took your life.

Because I love you, I cry out your name at night.

Because I love you, I hope you get to rest in peace.

Because I love you, I know that your pain has ceased.

Because I love you, I hope that I will see you again someday.

Because I love you, I know that heaven is where you lay.

To this, I make a promise, in which I hold dear and true,

That I will never forget you because I love you.
