Because I Love You

the years have been long and yet

when I see you the warmth still hits me

you, the light throught the clouds

the gold in the dying sun

the religion in my life

when i see you there is no

because there just is

i love you for the sake of it

i love you for the ocean of your eyes

the blanket of your grip

the strength in your voice

when you call my name

it sounds like a love note

like a declaration

like a promise

never an excuse

or explanation

because we are love

we will swallow the hurt

and turn it into a miracle
