"Because I Love You"

Some people say “I love you” to just about anyone.

However, today the three words don’t weigh a ton.

It becomes more about the phrase than the noun,

Less about the verb and more about the sound.

Because I love you should come from the heart,

Not just some quick sentence to restart.

Trust, respect and joy through the good and bad,

A best friend like you never actually had.

Chasing hopes and dreams together,

Living life for the significant other.

Love should bring out the best,

Not tear you down or make it a contest.

I will honor you throughout my life, my love,

Just like the one up above.

We will make forever and always our reality,

And because I love you, no one will be able to change my mentality.

These words might not seem like they are very meaningful,

But never worry, or act fearful.

There may be many within this world, but there is none quite like you,

With all my heart, I say “Because I love you” and promise it will never become untrue.
