because i love you.

because i love you

i would walk to the ends of the world

on broken legs, failing lungs and wasted dreams

just to see you one last time

because i love you

i would hold you in my arms

through beatings and brokenness, tears and turmoil

just to see you finally smile in the end

because i love you

my heart pounds at the sight of your name

i smile at the sound of your voice or the touch of your skin

just to see the day when we can call each other "spouse"

because i love you

i would wait through thousands of moments alone

forced into silent solitude, with no entertainment or oxygen

just to finally see you once again

because i love you

i would take away danger

or throw myself in its path, breaking my own body or soul

just to see you safely on the other side

because i love you

i will protect you with my every breath

save you from the monsters and nightmares and bullies

just to have you next to me with your beautiful smile

because i love you

i would take a thousand insults

slander every word that has ever come out of my pen

just to save you from a single one

because i love you

i will tell you every day

as if every breath i take is my last and that is the last thing i can say

just so you know that i love you

because i love you

and that will never change

no matter the number of fights

no matter the monsters or broken nights

i will be there

because i love you.
