Because I Love You
Love can be a complicated thing
All anyone wants is to make the blue birds sing
That is not all that love means to me
It transends from you and I to we
Love will bring pain
It isn't always kissing in the rain
Love is trusting one another
Learning from how your father treated your mother
No hands, no screams, no walking away
Love is talking, listening, and choosing to stay
Everyone has their off days
But to be in love is to recognize that it's just a phase
Love is not to lie, but if you must lie
Let it be every night together until the sun is high
Love is not to steal, but if you must steal
Let it be their sorrows to help them heal
Love is "in sickness and in health"
Not based on one anothers wealth
Love cannot be bought, sold, or traded
Love cannot be imprisoned or legislated
Love is an infatuation
Not an act of manipulation
To not cower at the sight of their scars
But to promote and accept them as they are
Love is about breaking boundaries and taking chances
The eyes say it all with their second glances
Just like William Shakespear's Romeo and Juliet
They lived together without fear and no regret
Saying "I love you" anytime you can
And being each other's biggest fan
