"Because I love you"

"Because I love you" - the answer I cry when it's late at night and you're saying goodbye.

"Because I love you" - the whisper I hear when the darkness surrounds and you tell me you're near.

"Because I love you" - so different it sounds from the way my mom used it, her jaw clenching down.

"Because I love you" - her voice I still hear as she screamed through the days, ignoring my tears.

"Because I love you" - the reason, it seems, for all of the beauty between you and me.

"Because I love you, you, only you" - this time it's different, can you feel it too?
