Because I Love You

Because I love you,

I let you hurt me.

Because I love you,

I was your punching bag,

Your object,

Your "perfect partner."

Because I love you,

I gave up on myself

Because I loved you.

But now, I love myself.

I am free,

Broke the chains that held me down.

A bird in the sky,

Wings unclipped.

I am myself.

I love myself.

I left

Because I love myself
