Because I Love You

I make you laugh, to see a smile light your face, because I love you.

You tickle my sides, to hear my giggles echo through the room, because you love me.

We give each other happy memories, in the saddest times, because that is what love does.

I support you, through the darkness, because I love you.

You protect me, from my childhood nightmares, because you love me.

We defend one another, when harsh words are slung, because that is what love does.

I know when you are not okay, calling your bluff of "I'm fine", because I love you.

You are amused with my sass, but will gently repremind me if I go too far, because you love me.

We challenge each other, in a way that betters a person, because that is what love does.

If it hurts you, then it cannot be love, because that is not what love does.
