Because I love you
At sixteen years old spitting the word 'love' out since I was six like it was my
word of the day every day for the last ten years.
The day I met you was a log thrown on a traintrack,
a finger stuck in a meat grinder,
a toe stubbed on a door.
Because I loved you I gave you everything I had.
Look through my phone
Here are my passwords
this is normal
it's okay because
I love you.
Because I loved you I isolated myself.
I wont talk to them anymore
please don't be mad at me
stop yelling
I love you.
Because I loved you I did what I could to make you happy.
You're right I shouldn't eat that
I won't wear those shorts anymore
I'm sorry I cut my hair
I love you.
Choking on my words and coughing up remorse because I loved you.
And because I love myself
I left you.
Four years later at twenty years old experiencing unconditional love
Knowing my self worth and loving someone who loves me too.
