Because I Love You
Love is far more than just sweet words and puppy-dog eyes,
Love is happiness, hardships, and just being wise.
We have all had somebody enter our life with good intentions,
Yet, some relationships turn abusive, sour, and we come out with tensions.
Loving someone is more than it is cracked up to be,
Once you fall in love, your eyes will allow you to see.
Love and appreciation is shown when your love simply cleans the house,
Or when you sneak into bed after a long night of work, as quiet as a mouse.
Love is far more than just a fancy and expensive date,
Sometimes while in love, you will eat pizza at home, on a cheap paper plate.
You're both tired from working long hours and living on your own,
Both trying to work and pay endless bills, learning to be grown.
Because I love you, I see beyond your everyday looks,
You make me happy and laugh, like you get your humor from joke books.
Sometimes our house is messy and filled with clutter,
Yet, I still see a hardworking and beautiful soul, who makes my heart flutter.
