Because I Love You

She dug her seashell pink nails into my back

Angry red and charcoal black

My Angel's got a temper,

seeing red when I dare speak to somebody-Anybody!-else

Her love is wrath,

taking shape in the form of bruises and text messages from concerned friends

She holds my freedom in her teeth.

" I love you", she says.

" I own you".
