Because I Love You...

Because I love you I support you in everything you do.

I might not think you are good at it but I support you.

Because I love you I defend your name when you cannot.

Some say it’ll bite me in the butt one day but I beg to differ.

Because I love you I think about you when I'm supposed to be shopping for myself.

I ask questions like, “Will they like this? Should I get this or no?”

Because I love you I make sure you're alright before I think about my myself.

I say things like, “ Forget about my day, how was yours? Anything exciting?”

Because I love you I get butterflies whenever you are mentioned.

It feels good to smile about someone I feel deeply about.

But being that I love you does not mean I’ll put my life on the line.

I love other people too and I can't let them go through that pain.

Being that I love you doesn’t mean I will cut off all my friends.

I don’t want to be a house person or be with you all the time.

Being that I love you doesn't mean that I'm gonna skip class for you.

I love you but I'm a smart girl and failing is something I don't do.

Because I love you I will not turn the other cheek when I know you’re wrong.

I couldn't do that if I tried because then I'm just as wrong as you are.

Because I love you I want you to know that my love for you runs very deep.

Meaning if I have to let you go I would. We both deserve happiness.
