Because I Love You

"Because I love you,"

The cruel look in his eyes

Yet endearing words

My heart my mind

Which is still mine?

My mother tells me he is not right

As stubborn as I am I always put up a fight.

"He loves me; you don't understand!

He is the only one who can be my man."

"I hurt you because I love,

I care for you in ways you cannot see."

"I am doing this for you, don't make this hard and choose me."

It's getting harder to tell. Am I going with the flow?

The bruises will show, and it hurts like hell

But it's because I love him that I can't let go.
