Because I Love You (abuse needs to stop)

Because I love you I let you pour salt into my wounds

Because I love you I change even though I told myself I’d stay true

Because I love you I let you cleanse my soul with words of hate

Because I love you I never know when to quit before it becomes too late

Because I love you I hide the teardrops that stain my face

Because I love you I never let you know when you're getting out of place

Because I love you I let your poison hands caress me everywhere

Because I love you I forget that an act of love should be pure and fair

Because I love you I hide the bruises and the marks

Because I love you I allow my body to be overcome by the dark

Because I love you I have forgotten who I am

Because I love you I fail to realize that your love is nothing but a scam

Because I love you I return your venomous kiss

Because I love you I no longer know what love really is.
