Because I love you, I have escaped

Because I love you, I am free.

I no longer wish to swallow the things that tricked me into feeling

what I feel with them and you are the same.

Their reigns held my heart embraced to the point of

suffocating it’s rhythm to follow the cadence that they please.

Because I love you, I have flourished.

You let me follow my own beat, which so happens to match with yours.

It is the natural rhythm of love which I choose to follow now.

Because I love you, I love myself.

You have broken down the walls which were built by words far less

compassionate than your own.

You’ve let your bright light shine through the cracks in my shield,

showing me there is more to the world on the other side and

you are here to protect me.

Because you love me,

I am innocently fearless.

It is as if we are children playing the playground when we converse;

the more we explore, the more imaginative lands we travel to

with each other.

I know you would save me from the dragons tower.

Because you love me, you are my sun.

The warmth of your presence has melted me into being exactly who I was chasing.

Because you love me,

I now taste the sweet flavors of love on your lips

instead of the traces of artificially processed and packaged love on mine.

Because you love me, I am no longer afraid of love

because I love you.
