Because I loved myself

After you left with her, I found the love you never gave within myself

I took that love and planted the seeds

and grew an entire garden

When he came along, he didn’t threaten the flowers and trees with doubt, worry, or insecurity

Instead, he became the gardener

He nurtured, loved, and respected every inch of me

Because I loved myself, I found a man who knows my worth and won’t ever let me question it

And for that, I fell in love with him
