Because I Loved You

Embraced in your arms I felt so safe

We were one and the same

Here I could stay

Forever

Because I love you

You told me your dreams

I told you my fears

You told me your sins

I told you my ambitions

Because I love you

But soon those love you’s turned into

Tears

Your arms became chains

And your dreams became my nightmares

Because I loved you

I had to leave

Because I loved you

I forgot how to love

Myself.

And how could I love someone

If I could not love

Myself?
