Because I Loved You

Because I love you I gave myself to you. I changed my identity to fit your needs and wants.I figured thats what love is right? Love is changing yourself for someone else. At first I didn't notice the little pieces of me you were taking. Not until I looked in the mirror and couldn't recognize myself. The crazy part is that I was okay with that, because I love you. You noticed I didn't fit your wants so you found someone who did. I was a porcelin doll dropped on the floor, all my pieces scattered. That's when I learned what love was. Because I love you, I realized that love is not changing someone. Instead it's loving the persons imperfections and never wanting them to change. Because I loved you, I learned what love shouldn't be.
