Because I Need This

You can’t expect the world to love you

Or to win every fight.

You won’t always be the best

Though try and try you might.

Let downs are essential

To growing big and strong

And someday you’ll have to realize

It’s okay to be wrong.

Momma taught you well

And Daddy held your hand

But come on sweet child,

Let go and stand.

You’ll fall and trip and stumble

But you’ll just have to wait.

As the saying goes,

Fall seven times, and stand up eight.
