Because I Was There (#BecauseILoveYou)

Son I'm sorry, for everything that I've said

yelling at you day and night, striking fear at sight

nights now, strike now, lights out!

killing dream since you were three

you said "I want to live as a tree"

I said "fine by me, all you have to do is study!"

A's A's A's that's all I wanted to see every single day

B's as good as D's but what I see in you is an F

Right now, nights out, 3 strikes, I’m out!

Son I'm sorry, for everything that I've said

all I wanted for you was to be better than me

never to be, a failure like your daddy
