Because of Love
Whenever I’m in pain, my little sister
Gives me a teddy bear to hold
And I smile
Because she loves me
Whenever I feel the world crashing down around me, my father
Gives me hot cocoa to drink
And I smile
Because he loves me
Whenever I’m laying face-down in despair, my kitten
Gives me a wink and a purr
And I smile
Because she loves me
Whenever I wonder about the point of it all, my friends
Give me a hand to hold
And I smile
Because they love me
Whenever you’re sad or lost or confused, I
Give you everything you ask for
And you smile
Because I love you
Whenever I’m left alone, when you’re gone, I
Tell myself that you’re right and I’m wrong
And I cry
Because you love me
