BECAUSE MAMMA

Because mamma says baby I love you

Because a mothers love is unconditional

Next week she says baby I hate you, and:

I want nothing to do with you anymore.

Tomorrow mamma will help me lose my mind,

I’ll have to stop and pause to avoid stepping on one of her mood landmines.

Today mamma says baby keep your eyes closed, just so she could steal from my soul.

Everyday, I'm wasting my young years while mamma has me chasing old ideas…

But mamma you passed down your depression and anxiety to me

But mamma what you didn't pass down is your legacy.

Because mamma, I'll be damned if I ever become anything like you.

Because mamma, you let the man choose a path for your child.

And then mamma says but baby I love you.
