Because We Love

There is a good morning text waiting when I wake up

Even though we share the same bed

I turn over and kiss the back of your neck

Because I love you

The pancakes are fluffier

And the coffee is sweeter

Everything has to be perfect

Because you love me

Ice cream melts faster

Cold days never seem cold

But with thoughts of you in my heart they never were

Because I love you

My skin feels like fire

Your fingers brush my face

And you kiss my forehead

Because you love me

With nightmares of disloyal lovers

You wake up in the middle of the night

I sit awake with you until the sun comes up

Because I love you

I am showered in compliments when you see my discomfort

A smile is something you never fail to give me

You lift me to a new level never pushing me down

Because you love me

Our time together makes us feel immortal

Sadness has never excised in our presence

We smile with no worries

Because we love
