Because of You

Because of you

I didn't look at the scars

I disregarded your words

I let myself get hurt

Because I thought we'd work

Because I love you

You fixed me

You destroyed me

You helped me

You broke me

You came to me

You left me

And you abandoned me

I let you burn me

I believed I was happy

I thought we were happy

But it was all an illusion

There should have been trust

There should have been respect

There should have been compassion

There should have been honesty

It was unhealthy

I thought there was love

I though there was commitment

But only because I loved you

That I didn't realize

Only I was doing the loving
