Because of You
Because of you,
I plan to stay
through every joy
through every cry
through every turn.
Because of you,
I know the words,
"I'm here for you."
Because of you,
I notice the little things:
The curls of your lips
the patterns of your irises
the freckles of your cheeks.
Because of you,
I know the words,
"I appreciate you."
Because of you,
I think of home
by the way you care
by the way you love
by the way you listen.
Because of you,
I know the words,
“You are enough.”
Because of you,
I see self worth and confidence
From the way you speak
from the way you walk
from the way you conquer.
Because of you,
I know the words,
“I respect you."
Because of you,
I know love is complimentary and
cannot be selfish
cannot be manipulative
cannot be suffocating.
Because of you, I know the words,
“I love you."
