Because of you

because of you my heart hurts

as if your words were a knife

plunging into my abdomen piercing

the very last bit of my trust

that I gave to you

because of you I spend countless hours

crying a million tears that comfort me

as my sadness wiskes me off to somewhere

that it doesn't seem to hurt as bad as what you did

because of you there seems to be a grey cloud

that only leads me to believe that i'm the only one that cares

because you seem to have already moved on from our fight last night

and you act like it never even happened

but because of you I'm becoming a strong woman

building walls around my heart

to keep out people who want to hurt me

the way you did

because of you I feel little to no more pain

no more of the gut wrenching feeling that has haunted me all these years

because for the 1st time i can truly say im ok

because of you i’m finally the woman i’m supposed to be

because of you those tears have washed away any chance of forgiveness

but your happy with the choice you made right

this wasn't all for nothing

in the end i’m the one who will grow from this

as if a flower is finally able to bloom

as I am now able to bloom and be beautiful

because of you the only way to go from here

is up
