Because you love me

Abuse me

And use me

Insult me

And discourage me

Just tell me

That you love me

And I will be fine

That’s what we do right?

Tell ourselves its fine

But that isn’t really love

Is it?

No…

It’s not fine

Because real love is about trust

And building each other up

It’s about keeping promises

Built off of love

And not lust

So when you tell me that you love me

I want you to mean it from your heart

Don’t just tell me that you love me

So you can push me down

And tear me apart

We’re all worth so much more than abuse

And rejection

So comes with the words I Love You

Is care and affection

It’s true that actions speak

Louder than words

So don’t you dare settle for less

Than what you deserve

And what you deserve

Is just like everybody else

A love you can count on

When you can’t count on yourself
