because YOU love me

Sometimes YOU buy me food when I'm hungry.

YOU give me a house to sleep in.

YOU usually pay the bills...

YOU take me to school so i can can get an education—

i appreciate that part.

but i am an adult...

i pay all my own bills—

phone, car, insurance, tuition.

i take care of my siblings when YOU are away...

and YOU always seem to be away lately.

YOU come back.

then i try to make my own decisions

but it's suddenly a problem now.

YOU say you're just trying to protect me.

because YOU love me..

no.

YOU are controlling.

i try to make my own decisions but...

suddenly i'm irresponsible

suddenly i'm immature

suddenly YOU have no trust in me

suddenly... i'm done.

i'm done trying to prove myself to YOU.
