Because you love me

Because I love you...

I let you see every intimate part of me.

From the constant need for mix matched socks

to never getting sick of Kitkats

I make you listen to my endless conspiracy theories

and I let you laugh when I mix up words when I'm upset.

Because I love you...

I tell you everything

from what I was thinking about at 7:28 Tuesday night

to what I see in our future.

Because I love you...

I let you see the silly.

The extreme sarcasm

and the puns that never end

Because I love you...

I allow you to see the most real part of me

The piece of me that I never allow people to see

Simply because its not all that pretty.

Because I love you...

I allow you to see me in a way no one else can.

Crying because for the hundredth time that month

I didn't feel good enough.

or I almost was.

Because I love you...

I call you in those times.

I allow you to hear me cry and vent my frustrations.

I let you listen and be there as I cry for hours until I finally pick myself back up again.

Because I love you...

You see me no different.

You accentuate my flaws

and encourage me to reach for the stars

even when I miss sometimes.

Because you love me...

you trust me, you respect me, and you want me.

you look at me with eyes of wonder

you laugh at my stupid jokes

and come home with something utterly ridiculous

just cause you know it will bring a smile to my face.

Because I love you...

you never let me give up

even when its writing a poem about love.
