Because You're a Ghost
Tears drip from my closed eyes.
I fear opening them,
because I know you'd be gone,
and I'd be forever alone.
I dislike being by my lonesome.
It's sad and prehistoric,
like the days of the dinosaur,
but I have to open them,
in order to live with your passing.
It's horrible to know you,
won't ever come back to us.
You left through that open door,
breaking our already shattering hearts.
I can barely breathe.
My hearing is all messed up.
I can't even think,
without remembering your smiling face.
Do you know how much I hurt?
No, you can't know,
because you're gone for always,
and I'm still here waiting for your return.
Even though I know that can't be
because you're a ghost,
gone completely.
