BecauseILoveMe

Tongue-tied

Mouth so dry

No words can be made

The gentle hands

That held me down

The gentle eyes that

Showed no remorse

The marks of your embrace

Wrapped around my neck

The widest grin

Slapped across your face

The words I spoke

Washed down with soap

The words you spoke

Like needles in my skin

You say your patience’ running thin

The pain you held

The pain only I could heal

The hits I took

With a smile on my face

I love you

Till’ death do us part

The world saw a man insecure

Afraid to lose the woman he loved

The one he’d give the world to

The day I died inside

The day you made me run and hide

The day you ripped the world from below my feet

With bruises and cuts

With a soul in need of a surgery

The day I awoke

The man I love

The man with nothing to lose

I leave, I’m dead

I stay, I’m dead

Love is happiness

Happiness is generosity

Giving, not taking

Supportive and safe

Strives to build you up

And keep you at the top

I love you.

Scratch that

Loved. You.

I spoke.

The words flowed

I love me more.
