#BecauseILoveYou

I saw love when I looked into my mother's eyes when I graduated middle school.

I saw love when my dad picked me up from my first day of 1st grade.

I see love everyday when I come home to my sister,

Hugging me and telling me she loves me.

And I saw love the night my grandfather died

And the last thing he said to me was, "Grandpa loves you."

Love is not just a thing you say,

It's something that wakes you up in the middle of the night,

Because your heart is as full as Niagara Falls.

It fills up but there is a hole at the bottom,

Leaving room for more love and warmth.

Love is when my mom laughs at a joke,

And I can hear the pure joy,

Dancing from her mouth.

Love is when my first love told me that I looked lovely on Homecoming,

And how my heart could be the first on Mars,

It jumped that high.

When I was fifteen,

I found myself in a teen pyschiatric hospital.

I had lost my way from love.

And when my parents picked me up,

And I saw my texts I had missed,

"I love you because.." reared it's face at me.

Reasons and reasons of why I needed to be here

Flooded my phone.

And that's when I found love again.

"Because I love you."

Is what my parents said.

"Because I love you."

Is what I said to myself.

Love is happy.

And I am happy.

I am love.
