It is not easy to say the words

but still we do it and expect nothing in return

when we don't want to be alone

we say i love you and feel at home 

but when the tears run down our faces

we say i love you and find comfort in our own embraces

because i love you i stay up at night

because i love you i feel like im losing every fight

though we mean what we say

i have this feeling that we're never going to be okay

i even treat you with love every step of the way

yet you look back and question every word that i say

because i love you i deal with the pain

even though it feels like im locked up with a ball and a chain

so tell me who's the one that has something to gain

sometimes love is a strong word

but when we say it we feel so alive

even with the neglect and evil in our eyes

and because of this we tell ourselves that we will forever be fine

hopefully we have enough time

because i love you'll always be mine
