Love is...

...no.

I wish I knew what love was. 

Memories are like liquor to the fire of affection.

"I did you wrong but I can now do better."

"Because I love you, let me be your trendsetter."

Danced and we danced to the song of affliction.

Apologies were just sprinkles in our daily woes,

A small right in... only God knows what was wrong.

But we tried.

"Because I love you, I'll give you myself."

Happiness was afterthought,

Sunken in this mirage of stability,

Humility,

Success.

Neither wanted to be a burden to each other,

Emotions pressed.

We were bound to each other by toy smiles and

Wore our illusions as crowns.

Communication fell upon deaf ears.

"Because I love you, nothing can go wrong."

We played each day by ear,

and adjusted,

and adjusted,

and adjusted,

Until we were comfortable with the notes we had.

They weren't perfect. 

But they didn't need to be. 

They were ours. 

It took forever to notice, but time doesn't matter when my time with you is endless.

"I love you, because I love you."
