When somebody says they love You, it

Should be for who You are,

Not what You have

Or how they can use You.

Relationships, whether platonic or romantic,

Should be built on honesty and loyalty,

Not temporary occasions

Where they decide to like You,

Then ignore You the next day.

You should feel like you can tell them anything

And know that they will listen, try to help,

And not tell anyone.

More importantly, it should go both ways.

Your friends or significant other should never make You feel bad about yourself.

They are there to bring out your best, not point out your flaws.

Competition and comparisons are unfair, hurtful,

And unnecessary.

“Love” is not an excuse for someone to control your life

Or force their opinions onto You.

It’s not an excuse for them to know your grades,

Or to judge the way You dress, style your hair, or act.

Just because they think know You

They shouldn't be able to control every aspect of your life,

Or tell you how to feel or who to be.

Love between friends or partners is mutual, caring, and

Pure.

It should never be anything less.
